From my early years, I was fortunate to study under exceptional Russian artists, learning a rich variety of art techniques. In my adolescence, during my studies in England at Malvern St James College, I immersed myself in the classical Italian Renaissance style, making it my primary medium. I spent countless hours studying and replicating the works of masters like Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli, laying the groundwork for my own style in traditional oil painting.
With the rise of digital art over a decade ago, I began exploring new techniques, combining mediums that, in the physical world, would never blend. In the past five years alone, I’ve created over 200 paintings across various styles. But, as every artist eventually must, I’ve found it’s time to embrace my unique path. For me, that journey lies at the crossroads of Surrealism and classical academic painting.
While I will continue to create in both Surrealistic and Renaissance styles, it’s Surrealism that has captured my heart. This style offers endless possibilities—each painting becomes a vehicle for layered messages, directly engaging with the viewer. Surrealism invites minimalistic expressions of ideas or lavish, technical compositions, but in the end, it’s all about the message: an idea that transcends language, culture, and borders.
What are your thoughts? I’d love to hear which style resonates most with you for my future creations. Do you prefer the timeless elegance of the Renaissance or the boundless imagination of Surrealism?
